All people who intend to work or volunteer in any of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati parishes, schools, or institutions, must attend a Safe Awareness Session for the Decree on Child Protection before you are approved to work with children.
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has substantially changed the way it conducts training for its Decree on Child Protection.
All training sessions on the Decree will now be known as SafeParish™ Child Awareness Sessions. SafeParish™
is a learning management platform that provides a broad array of training, education, information, and programs for Catholic
orgranizations. It is a child workplace safe enviroment program specifically designed for Catholic entities. Each Child Awareness Session will last
3 – 4 hours.
No one under the age of 18 will be allowed in the sessions.
NOTE: Those who have been through the “previous” Child Protection Classes (and it is verified via our audit report), do not need to attend the new SafeParish™ training yet. All who have been trained under the previous system are “grandfathered in” for at least a year. More information will follow… Those new volunteers who need training must attend the new SafeParish™ training.
To register for the new SafeParish™ training session (child protection course) please go to http://catholicaoc.org/offices/safe-enviroment or call the Parish Office at 937-268-2747 or Lois Woods, Safety & Environmental Coordinator, at 937-367-0859.
