Parish Ministries and Organizations

Getting Involved
In one way or another we are all called by God to serve him.  The Church of St. Benedict the Moor ministers to the physical and spiritual needs of God's children in a number of ways.  Many members and non-members of the parish participate in various charitable and social justice organizations, some of which are described here.

Bereavement Committee
St. Benedict parish offers Bereavement Ministry to individuals and families.  Bereavement volunteers are involved in several areas, such as attending funerals to greet people, hand out programs, and join in prayers.  The committee will meet with families to assist to plan the funeral liturgy.  They also conduct Wake Services and the Graveside Rite.  The committee also helps to plan and prepare the annual All Souls Day memorial mass and provide follow-up contact to families helping them go through their grief.  For information, call the office at 937-268-6697 and leave a message for Rita Ellicott.

Bible/Scripture Study
We offer you the opportunity to become involved in a discussion of the Sunday readings, and the Scriptures in general, and how they connect to our lives.  This is an excellent opportunity for you to join in the lively discussion on how the Word of God relates to us today.  Please join us on Wednesdays at 7pm in the meeting room. For more information call the office at 937-268-6697 and leave a message for Ron McDonald.
